Transport secretary officially cancels A1 upgrade DCO citing planning blight and uncertainty

New Civil Engineer - The secretary of state for transport Heidi Alexander has officially revoked the Development Consent Order (DCO) for the redevelopment of the A1 trunk road between Morpeth and Ellingham, despite ?60-70M having been sunk into the scheme.
