Crossrail 2 won't open until 'early 2050s' as TfL announces full timeline for expansion projects

My London - Transport for London has confirmed Crossrail 2 won't open under current plans for at least another 25 years, with the service not due to open until at least the 'early 2050s'. North and South London's answer to the Elizabeth line was supposed to begin construction in 2023, following Sir Sadiq Khan and the Department for Transport's formal backing of the plan in 2017, but there has been little progress.
