ITV to shutter London’s South Bank Studios ahead of redevelopment

ITV has taken the decision to close its historic South Bank Studios in London, responsible for bringing landmark television programmes such as Blind Date and Father Ted to our screens.
This history is being sacrificed in favour of a major redevelopment of the broadcaster’s headquarters, which stands alongside.
ITV is committed to a return once construction is complete but maintains there will not be space for any new studios, resulting in the loss of some 140 jobs.
