Facebook unveils standalone app for Events

Facebook is launching a standalone app for its social media-driven calendar that will record events tied to the Pages a person likes as well as highlight those their friends are interested in attending.
The glorified calendar lets users browse through recommendations based on time, location and interest. Additionally, there’s a map to help people find events that are close to them or in another city should they plan to travel there on vacation. The app also pulls in entries from calendars
