Facebook makes first step to introduce encryption with ‘secret message’ service
Facebook has rolled out a beta version of “secret conversations”, its new feature for Messenger that uses end-to-end encryption to allow users to have private messages protected from snoopers.
The feature will mean users can choose to make private messages disappear after a certain period of time chosen by the user.
The end-to-end encryption of the messages means in theory no one, not even the Government or Facebook, can intercept the messages.
