Universal shares slump
In a week when The Insider 30 companies traded
broadly in line with leading stock indices, Florida homeowners'
insurer Universal was a dramatic outlier as its shares slumped
after it was identified as an attractive short opportunity.
As we report on page 8, the insurer was singled out by short
seller Lakewood Capital, sending its stock plummeting 31 percent on
Tuesday (17 November).
