Universal receives Alabama licence

Expansive US homeowners' insurer Universal Insurance
Holdings has received regulatory approval to write business in
Alabama.
Universal is now licensed to write business in 12 states in
addition to its traditional Florida heartland.
The insurer also revealed that independent brokers placing
business with Universal through its online platform would have the
opportunity to receive commissions.
