UnipolSai seeks EUR1.6bn cat aggregate cover

UnipolSai, one of Europe's biggest reinsurance buyers, is in
the market for a EUR1.6bn ($1.9bn) catastrophe aggregate programme
to incept at 1 January, The Insurance
Insider has learned.
Sources told this publication the Italian carrier is looking to
change the way it buys its reinsurance in order to generate capital
efficiencies.
Previously, UnipolSai bought a EUR1.3bn per-event catastrophe
cover, which was reinstatable.
