Texas hailstorm losses top $2.6bn

Losses stemming from the series of hailstorms that hit Texas in the
first few months of the year are expected to top $2.6bn, according
to data from the state's insurance board.
Earlier this month, the state was hit by the costliest hailstorm
in its history.
Numbers reported by the Insurance Council of Texas revealed that
the grapefruit-sized hailstones that pounded the city of San
Antonio were expected to cost insurers $1.36bn.
