Talanx 2016 profit hits record despite Q4 dip

Fourth-quarter operating profit at Talanx fell 3.9 percent to
EUR649mn ($696.8mn), as a deterioration in the life insurance
segment of the business offset improvements in the P&C
operations.
Talanx is pursuing a "strategic realignment" of its
underperforming life operations, where operating profit more than
halved to EUR13mn from EUR29mn in the fourth quarter.
