Swiss Re and ILS funds lead UPC/ACIC Florida panels

Swiss Re, Everest Re and several insurance-linked securities
(ILS) funds are among the major reinsurance providers for United
Insurance Holdings carrier UPC Insurance and American Coastal
Insurance (ACIC).
ILS managers Nephila and Aeolus are the leading
providers of reinsurance to both carriers and are potentially
exposed to any consolidation of the programmes in 2017, when the
two are due to merge.
Each took almost a fifth of the $185.5mn premiums that UPC ceded
in 2015, according to Schedule F
