Standalone terror demand up on Tria block
The US Senate's failure to re-authorise the Terrorism Risk
Insurance Act (Tria) before its year-end 2014 expiry date is
causing an uptick in submission flow for standalone terrorism
cover.
Terrorism underwriters in the London market said insureds were
lining up their options, given that they will be left without
terrorism protection on 1 January following the Senate's
failure to approve the $100bn government backstop.
