Short seller takes AmTrust battle to PRA

A short seller has written to the UK insurance regulator
accusing US insurer AmTrust of a "dangerous combination of
improper accounting and aggressive financial engineering".
But in a statement emailed to The Insurance Insider, AmTrust
said the letter was part of a "self-enrichment
scheme".
AmTrust is currently involved in a court case with the short
seller and has sued it and a number of other entities for
defamation, accusing them of attempting to manipulate its stock
price
