Rate stability the best-case scenario for reinsurers: KBW

The best reinsurers can hope for at the key 1 January renewal is
rate stability, while a light hurricane season could drive greater
competition towards the end of the year, according to Keefe,
Bruyette & Woods analyst William Hawkins.
Based on conversations with buyers and sellers of reinsurance at
the Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous, Hawkins said his prediction is for a
modest global rate cut, with renewals flat to down 1 percent on
