Noonan optimistic on Lloyd's performance drive

Validus CEO Ed Noonan said he was encouraged by Lloyd's drive
to improve syndicates' underwriting performance as he reported
that premium rates at the Bermudian carrier's Talbot unit had
fallen sharply this year.
"The first thing I would say is that all the conversations
we have had with Lloyd's itself and the new franchise director
give us a bit of optimism," he revealed on a second quarter
conference call.
"They have changed the planning process this year, they
have changed...
