M&A activity reignited by attractive Sompo-Endurance deal
After a dearth of deals this year, M&A activity has begun to
heat up with Sompo's $6.3bn acquisition of Endurance.
The deal is part of Sompo's strategy to build a globally
diversified business portfolio in order to achieve further growth
and improve its returns, the Tokyo-based company said in a
statement today.
At least one observer noted that Japanese acquirers were more
focused on quality than price when it came to buyouts, and the
Bermuda-based insurer fit the bill.
