Maiden posts miss citing AmTrust quota share in Q1

Maiden Holdings missed Wall Street estimates for the first
quarter, posting operating earnings of $0.26 per share as the
reinsurer's combined ratio edged over the breakeven mark to
100.9 percent partly because of a quota share with AmTrust
Financial.
The Bermudian reported operating profit of $22.6mn, down 20
percent from the year-earlier quarter. Analysts had forecast
earnings of $0.38 a share, the consensus of four estimates compiled
by MarketWatch.
