Insurers escalate InsurTech activity
Carriers are becoming more active investors in InsurTech
start-ups, according to data from Willis Towers Watson (WTW).
The broking and consultancy giant found the number of InsurTech
investment deals by (re)insurers rose by 35 percent year-on-year in
the fourth quarter of 2017, to 35 transactions from 26 a year
earlier.
Over 2017, the number of InsurTech investments made by
(re)insurers rose by 14 percent to 120.
