Heritage withdraws rate rise request

Floridian insurer Heritage Property and Casualty Insurance has
withdrawn a request to increase its rates by 14.9 percent following
discussions with the state regulator.
The proposal, which related to homeowner policies in Florida,
requested the regulator to remove renewal rate caps and to allow
the company to adjust its prices by territory, with the
fluctuations capped at 25 percent.
The decision also means the carrier will have to refund any
