Florida property insurers pummelled as Matthew approaches
Investors didn't wait for Hurricane Matthew to arrive before
battering the shares of publicly traded Florida property insurers
today.
Several of the state's big five took double-digit hits as
the New York markets opened. Heritage Insurance Holdings fell more
than 14 percent and United Insurance Holdings fell as much as 13
percent in early trading.
The three others - Universal Insurance Holdings, HCI Group and
Federated National - were all down in the range of 8 percent.
