Citizens: 1-in-100 storm wouldn't need taxpayer help

A benign year for catastrophe events combined with policy count
reductions has meant that Florida's insurer of last resort
could cope with a 1-in-100-year storm without tapping taxpayer
money.
Citizens now expects to have enough surplus and reinsurance
coverage to protect its customer base, which has fallen to 727,000
from a high of nearly 1.5 million in 2012 and is expected to drop
further in 2015, president, CEO and executive director Barry Gilway
