Category 3 Hurricane Irma brews in the Atlantic

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, forecasters are keeping
one eye on Hurricane Irma, a Category 3 storm which is rapidly
gaining intensity out in the Atlantic.
Irma was named as a tropical storm on Wednesday morning and by
Thursday afternoon it had strengthened into a large Category 3
hurricane, with winds of 115 mph.
Some forecasters, such as the Climate Forecast Applications
Network, have suggested the storm could track straight up through
Florida and into the US mainland.
