Brisbane storm to cost IAG up to A$170mn

Insurance Australia Group (IAG) has estimated that it could face
a net claims burden of A$170mn from the hailstorms that struck
Brisbane and the surrounding areas last week.
The Australian carrier said in a statement today (4 December)
that it had received 15,300 claims so far, 12,000 of which had
resulted from hail damage to motor vehicles.
Currently, the group expects the hailstorm to result in a net
claims cost of between A$140mn and A$170mn.
