Axa CEO to retire in September

Axa chairman and CEO Henri de Castries is to leave after 17 years
in the role, the insurer announced today (21 March).
De Castries will step down from the board of directors and
relinquish his position on 1 September.
The board unanimously decided at a special meeting held last
week to split the functions of chairman and CEO after a succession
planning process led by the company's compensation and
governance committee.
