AIR projects Harvey industry losses at over $10bn

Property and casualty industry losses from Hurricane Harvey are
expected to exceed $10bn, AIR Worldwide said today.
The storm that came ashore near Corpus Christi, Texas, on 25
August caused widespread flooding from record rainfall in the
Houston area before pushing northeast into Louisiana and leaving
Port Arthur and Beaumont, Texas, inundated.
About $3bn of the more than $10bn in industry insured losses
stem from wind and storm surge driven by the Category 4 hurricane
