Aegis stops writing aviation war as 'model is broken'

Aegis London's Syndicate 1225 has withdrawn from the
aviation war market after rates failed to harden sufficiently
despite the sector posting a loss ratio in excess of 1,000 percent
in 2014.
David Croom-Johnson, active underwriter for the syndicate, told
The Insurance Insider: "The
underwriting model is broken so there is no chance of getting a
recovery on the losses, nor is there any chance of us paying for
future losses."
