Whitehall suspect charged with terror and explosives offences

A man arrested close to Downing Street last month has been charged with preparing terrorist acts and explosives offences.Khalid Mohammed Omar Ali, 27, of north London, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.The first charge relates to 27 April, the day he was arrested in Whitehall, and accuses him of preparing to commit acts of terrorism "on or before" that date.
