Welsh Villagers Trapped In 'Zero Value' Homes
Residents of Fairbourne in Cardigan Bay say they have been left trapped in worthless homes by council plans to allow the village to be engulfed by the sea. Gwynedd Council has based its coastal management plans on projections that sea levels will have risen by a metre in 100 years' time. That would mean that in just 40 years levels will be such that maintaining the sea defences in Fairbourne would be unfeasible.
