UKIP Row Unfolds As MP Rejects £650,000 Cash

UKIP's only MP has refused to accept the £650,000 of taxpayers' money his party is entitled to following the General Election - even though senior colleagues want him to take the funding. Douglas Carswell claims he was urged by UKIP officials to hire 15 people using the cash, which is awarded to parties which secure two seats, or one seat with more than 150,000 votes. However, the Clacton MP – who favours smaller, less expensive governments – said he would be unable to "look
