Three Held After Nurse Killed In Car Chase

Three males are being held after a nurse was knocked down and killed by a car involved in a police chase. The 33-year-old woman, named locally as Jill Pirrie, is believed to have been walking home from work at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Thursday evening when she was hit by the car. Ms Pirrie, who is understood to have a young son, was treated at the scene in Old Dalkeith Road but died later in hospital.
