The GCSE system is bottom of the class

A 9 in 2018 is now the top GCSE grade if you live in England, but was the bottom grade previously (Tougher GCSEs hit the mark as 16-year-olds get improved grades, 24 August).If you took English or Maths GCSE last year, 9 was the top grade, but it wasn’t for any other subject.Some boards, plus Northern Ireland and Wales have retained A-C pass grades.
