Teachers Stage 24-Hour Walkout Over Cuts

Seven out of eight schools are "refusing to close" despite a 24-hour teachers' strike over funding, schools minister Nick Gibb has said. Members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) are staging the strike as part of a long-running dispute with the Government over what it describes as the "the worst cuts in funding since the 1970s".
