Storm Ernesto set to bring wildfire smoke to Britain

Britain is set to be battered by strong winds and rain from a tropical storm that could carry smoke from the Canadian and California wildfires.Forecasters say the smell of the fires and small amounts of soot may be detectable when Storm Ernesto hits the UK from about 6pm on Saturday.Ireland and the north of England will see the worst of the bad weather, but the storm will have cleared by mid-day on Sunday.
