Stansted brought to partial standstill after thunderstorms hit UK

Lightning is seen over London.Flights from Stansted airport have been delayed, diverted and cancelled after a major thunderstorm battered the UK with up to 20,000 bolts of lightning.Hundreds of homes were left without power after the humid bank holiday weather broke into an intense four-hour storm across the south of the country late on Saturday night.
