Southern Rail agrees fresh talks with RMT over conductor strike

Southern Rail has agreed to hold fresh talks with the Rail, Maritime and Transport union in a bid to resolve a dispute over the role of conductors. Charles Horton, chief executive of Southern's owners, Govia Thameslink Railway, has written to the leader of the RMT saying he will meet him on Wednesday. It comes as passengers travelling on Southern Rail had their journeys badly disrupted by both an RMT strike and overrunning engineering works.
