Smuggler Hides Cigarettes In Budda Statues

Statues of Buddha were used to smuggle more than 100,000 illegal cigarettes into the UK, a court has heard. James Reber, 51, a furniture importer from Brighton, was given an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after he pleaded guilty to evading tax and duty. The officers found five coloured fibreglass statues of Buddha, all filled with cigarettes.
