Smith: Manchester Olympic Parade 'Tokenistic'

Labour leadership contender Owen Smith has described the decision to hold an Olympic parade in Manchester as "tokenistic". The rival to current leader Jeremy Corbyn said that while he supports holding an event to celebrate Team GB's success in the city, the Government should be doing more for the North in general. Mr Smith said: "I think lots of people feel we're too centralised a country in government terms, and too centralised in terms of industry and opportunity.
