Smiler Ride Re-Opens After Passengers Stranded For An Hour

Thrill-seekers at Alton Towers were left stranded on The Smiler rollercoaster for an hour some 15 months after a crash on the ride seriously injured five people. The passengers were safely removed and the ride was closed for the fault to be investigated, an Alton Towers spokesperson said. Liam Dennett, 33, from Cheltenham, was in the queue for the ride when an announcement was made about a "technical fault".
