Shopper 'stampede' after false reports of shots fired

A woman has been injured in a fall after false reports of gunfire on Oxford Street on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.Armed police as well as regular local officers were scrambled to the scene in central London after reports of "shots heard" at 4.50pm, Scotland Yard said.The incident appeared to centre on the House of Fraser department store, where one large window pane facing on to the pavement was broken.
