Share Prices Bounce Back As Oil Steadies

The FTSE 100 Index has fought back after a miserable eight-session losing streak with supermarkets among the top risers and commodities stocks also recovering. Britain's top share index had slumped to three-year lows on Monday as the oil price sank, with Brent crude slipping to $37.50 a barrel, a seven-year low. But the price steadied as oil edged above $38 in the latest session – and the FTSE 100 added 100 points.
