Seven-day doctor service sparks cutbacks warning by top GP
Britain's most senior GP has said making doctors available at the weekend on a routine basis is unrealistic and could have serious impact on patient care on weekdays. Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard, chairwoman of the Royal College of General Practitioners, said most GPs were "already spread far too thin". The Government has pledged to improve access to GPs in the evenings and at weekends.
