Scorchio! Temperatures soar to break May bank holiday record
It's official - today is the hottest May Day bank holiday Monday since records began.The Met Office has reported a high of 24.2C (75.5F) at Herstmonceux in East Sussex, the warmest early May Day bank holiday in 40 years.It beats the previous top temperature for a Bank Holiday Monday of 23.6C (74.5F) which was set in 1999.
