Sainsbury's Sales Slip Back Into Reverse
Sainsbury's sales have gone back into decline after it reported a 0.8% fall in like-for-like sales for the first quarter to 4 June. Chief executive Mike Coupe said the business had seen a "solid start to the year" with the number of transactions increasing but warned that it continued to be squeezed by tough market conditions as prices fall amid the supermarket price war.
