Royal Marine reservist Martin Shannon admits possessing arms cache
A British soldier is facing a "considerable" jail sentence after admitting 15 firearms and explosives offences. Royal Marine reservist Martin Shannon was arrested near Winchester in September after an undercover operation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) with the help of police from Thames Valley and Hampshire. Shannon had been charged with offences including the sale or transfer of prohibited weapons (a semi-automatic Sig Sauer P226 handgun and a Diemaco C8 assault rifle).
