Rodney Bickerstaffe (left), former general secretary of Unison, campaigning for a living wage in 2000 with former Labour cabinet minister Barbara Castle and Jack Jones, former leader of the transport workers’ union.Rodney was on the platform of speakers, as was the newly elected and fresh-faced prime minister, Tony Blair.Rodney gave an excellent and very witty speech.
