RAF Typhoons intercept Russian bombers over North Sea

Royal Air Force fighter jets were scrambled from northern Scotland to intercept two Russian bombers on Friday afternoon, the Ministry of Defence has said.The Typhoons were sent from RAF Lossiemouth at around midday, along with the RAF's air-to-air refuelling tanker the Voyager, which is based at Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.According to the Ministry of Defence, the RAF and NATO partners had monitored the Russian Tu-160 Blackjack supersonic bombers as they passed through a "variety of internationa
