Dozens of MPs have been physically attacked by their constituents, a study has claimed - with at least 100 more receiving threats they would be harmed. Of the 239 politicians who responded to the survey, 80% said they had been victims of aggressive or intrusive behaviour. Other violent incidents reported by politicians included being hit with a brick, shot with an air rifle, being lunged at with a hammer, and having petrol poured through their letter box.
