Police officer wounded in Belfast shooting

A police officer has been wounded in the first shooting of its kind in Northern Ireland for eight years. The officer was shot in the arm during a drive-by attack at a petrol station in Crumlin Road, north Belfast, on Sunday evening. A Belfast Health Trust spokeswoman said he was in a stable condition in hospital.
