Police investigate Alistair Carmichael over memo leak

Inquiries undertaken by Police Scotland to establish whether there was any criminality in actions by Liberal Democrat MPPolice Scotland have confirmed that they are investigating whether a crime was committed by MP Alistair Carmichael when he falsely denied leaking a memo intended to discredit Scottish National party leader Nicola Sturgeon during the general election campaign.
