'Piles Of Corpses' - Veteran On Belsen Horror

On 15 April 1945 British troops liberated the Belsen-Bergen Nazi concentration camp near Hanover in Germany. Colonel Leonard Berney was one of the first British soldiers inside the camp. The British soldiers had negotiated a truce with the German guards, so the camp was handed over without a fight.
